Buckets and Brain Dump
Not everything belongs on a specific day. The backlog holds work you want to do eventually, sorted into buckets by how soon it matters, so your calendar stays honest and nothing gets lost.
Capture by voice, sort automatically
The Braindump button opens a live dictation bar, not a text field. Talk through everything on your mind and Volana listens in real time, pulls out each task as you speak, and drops it into a bucket for you: you don’t type anything, and you don’t have to stop and file it by hand.

- Click Braindump and let Volana start listening.
- Talk through what’s on your plate, out loud, the same as narrating a to-do list to a person.
- Volana turns each thing you mention into its own backlog task while you’re still talking.
- Tasks land in a bucket by horizon: Someday in the next week or two, Next month, or Someday, among others.
- Tap the end button when you’re done. Reorder tasks or move them between buckets any time your priorities shift.
Buckets are a horizon, not a deadline
A bucket says roughly when you’ll get to something, not when it’s due. When you’re ready to commit, drag a task onto a day: that’s covered next.
Six buckets, from soonest to latest
The full backlog page stacks six buckets top to bottom: Someday in the next week or two, Next month, Next quarter, Next year, Someday, and Never. Pick whichever horizon feels honest; you can always move a task later.
Every backlog task is a real task: open it to set a due date, priority, tags, and subtasks, the same as any card on your board.
