Volana Events, Tasks, and Zen Blocks

Every block on your calendar is one of three kinds. They share the grid but mean different things: a fixed commitment, a scheduled to-do, or protected downtime.

Three kinds of blocks

The walkthrough highlights each in turn. You can tell them apart at a glance once you know what to look for.

Zen

A Volana event: a fixed commitment like a meeting.

Volana events

A fixed commitment: a meeting, a call, an appointment. Events carry a small calendar icon and a subtle stipple, and they hold their time: Volana schedules your tasks around them rather than moving them.

Task-events

A to-do from your board that Volana has found a time for. It’s still a real task: open it to set a due date, priority, or subtasks, but it now occupies a concrete slot you can drag and resize. These are the blocks Luna reshuffles when your day changes.

Zen blocks

Protected time to step away, marked with a lotus. Zen blocks reserve space on the grid so the scheduler won’t pack work into every gap, keeping room for breaks and recovery.

Same gestures, all three

Drag, resize, and quick-create work on every block kind. The difference is only in what the block represents and how the scheduler treats it.
