Focus Mode

Focus mode strips the app down to one thing: the task in front of you and a timer. It’s where you go to actually do the work you scheduled, with no board, no calendar, and no notifications competing for your attention.

Choosing a task

Focus opens onto whatever is scheduled right now. If nothing is running, it shows an empty state instead of guessing, and a Choose task button lets you pull anything from today’s schedule into the hero slot.

Focus

Your schedule is empty right now. Choose a task to start focus.

With nothing chosen yet, Focus shows the empty state.
  1. Nothing scheduled right now shows the empty-schedule prompt.
  2. Open Choose task to see everything left on today’s schedule.
  3. Pick one and it becomes the hero task, front and center.

The focus session

The hero task keeps three numbers in view at once: how long you have Actually worked, how long the block was Planned for, and how much time is Remaining. Start begins tracking; subtasks and a notes field sit right below it so you never have to leave the page to make progress.

The hero task tracks Actual, Planned, and Remaining time.
  1. Start begins tracking time on the task in place.
  2. Actual climbs while you work and Remaining counts the block down.
  3. Add or check off subtasks without leaving the session.
  4. Open details jumps to the full task modal, right where you’re focusing.

Start here is not Focus from the board

This page’s Start button tracks time on whatever task is already the hero. To send a different task into Focus mode in the first place, use Start in its task detail modal, covered on the task detail modal page.

Timer rhythms and density

Underneath the experience toggle, a second segmented control sets the rhythm: plain Focus, Pomodoro, 52 / 17, or open-ended Flowtime. Each one changes how densely work and breaks alternate, and swaps the hero task for a timer ring while it runs.

Pomodoro packs short work sprints between dot-tracked breaks.
  1. Pomodoro packs short, frequent sprints with a dot for each cycle.
  2. 52 / 17 runs one long stretch of deep work against a full recharge.
  3. Flowtime drops the countdown entirely and counts up until you stop, earning a break proportional to how long you flowed.

Breaks

Flip the experience toggle to Relax any time you want a real break instead of more screen. The break surface shows whichever state you’re in: your task paused and waiting, or an earned-break countdown before the next one begins.

Flip to Relax during a break for a calm screen instead of more work.

A calm screen and a small game

Relax replaces the timer with a full-bleed play surface and a small, low-stakes game behind the break controls, so downtime is real downtime. See Relaxed games next for a tour of each one.
