Wind-Down Routine
Add a task due today with no time set, after your work day is already over, and Volana doesn’t just push it to tomorrow. It checks whether tonight still has room, and if it doesn’t, it asks you what to do.
What triggers it
Your profile has a work day, a start time and an end time. When you add a task due today with no explicit time, Volana tries to schedule it automatically, same as any other task. If the clock has already passed your work day’s end, or the rest of today is already booked solid, that automatic placement fails.
When that happens, the task still lands on your board right away, unscheduled, exactly like any new task does. Instead of leaving it there or guessing a time, Volana opens a small confirm modal asking how you want to handle it.
This only applies to tasks due today with no time set yet. A task you schedule for a specific time, today or any other day, goes exactly where you put it, and never triggers this modal.

- Add a task the same way you always do, from the “Add task” row on your day.
- Type what you need to do and submit it. It lands on the board right away, unscheduled.
- With no time set and the work day already over, the wind-down confirm modal opens, titled “Too busy?”.
- Choose Schedule anyway to fit it into tonight regardless of your other commitments.
- The task picks up a time tonight and the modal closes.
Its other choices
Schedule anyway is only one option on that modal (it’s hidden if there’s no slot left today even ignoring your other commitments). The rest give you a way out instead of squeezing tonight further.

Luna reshuffles your day to make room, then schedules it.
- Schedule tomorrow skips tonight entirely and places the task at the next open time tomorrow, in normal work hours.
- Ask Luna reshuffles the rest of your day to make room for it instead of forcing it into an already-busy evening, then schedules it there. The modal closes once it settles.

The evening window a late task can use is just the time after your work day ends. Set it in work hours, under settings.
